If your PDF has been flagged for missing font embeddings, here is how to fix it before submitting to print.
Option 1: Re-export From the Original File
This is the cleanest solution. Open the original design file and re-export as PDF with font embedding enabled:
- InDesign / Illustrator — fonts are embedded by default in PDF/X export presets
- Microsoft Word — File → Save As → Tools → Save Options → check “Embed fonts in the file”
- Affinity Publisher — fonts are embedded by default
Option 2: Outline All Text
Convert all text to vector outlines before exporting. In Illustrator: Select All → Type → Create Outlines. This converts text to paths, removing all font dependency. Note: text cannot be edited after outlining.
Option 3: Automatic Repair
